There's No Place Like HOME

HOME is the new arts centre in Manchester which opened last year. With its array of arts, HOME is the perfect place for people like me to go. It focuses on producing plays that you’ve probably never heard of but are wanting to see, independent and foreign films and art exhibitions that will teach you something or make you more aware of a problem in the world. I must admit, I do love theatre but I love musicals and shows that I’ve heard of and know I’ll enjoy. HOME’s contemporary take on theatre is not really to my taste but it does interest me and I am willing to go and see something new.
I was introduced to this place when I first went with my A-Level drama class last year, we had a tour and a look around the art exhibition which was on at that time. Later in the year, we went to see the play ‘The Orestia’, this is a Greek play and the performance we saw had a modern take on it and although Greek theatre isn’t my cup of tea, I can appreciate the hard work that it takes to produce a show. A trip to HOME is never complete without a little peek around the bookshop. You can find little gems in the small bookshop hidden in the corner, such as a Benedict Cumberbatch colouring book and cards that actually have funny jokes on them, but the reason I visit HOME the most is for the restaurant.
Adam, Rachel and myself regularly have a catch up over lunch at HOME, we love the food and it caters well for all 3 of us as one of us is a vegan! The food is delicious and not too pricey either which makes it a great place for students like us to go. Whether you want to go simple with a margarita pizza or be adventurous and try one of their posh burgers, there is something for everyone. We can easily spend hours chatting away at our table as there is a relaxed vibe and the place is pretty chilled as a whole.
It’s easy to get to as it’s only a 15 minute walk away for Piccadilly Gardens, so if you’re out and about in Manchester give HOME a try.

Adam has been wanting a mention in my blog for a while now and whilst we were out, he insisted I took a photo of him to put into my blog. So Adam, here it is, you’ve finally made it!
